Description
The WPO worm gear reducer is a horizontally mounted reducer with the output shaft upwards. Its foot installation dimensions are not same as WPA, WPS reducers, but their internal worm and worm gear are in the same size. WPO reducer is composed of worm gear, worm, bearing, oil seal, sealing ring, box shell, large cover, small cover, etc. The common point of the WP series reducer is that the meshing friction loss between the worm and the worm gear tooth surface is big, so its transmission efficiency is lower than helical gear reducer, and it is easy to generate heat and high temperature. But it has the advantages of low cost, wide application, good heat dissipation, etc.

Model selection steps:
- Determine the directions of the output and input shafts. The WP worm gearbox has horizontal and vertical mounting types and various directions of input and output shafts including single input, double input, single output, double output, etc. Please choose right model and shaft direction according to your needs.
- Calculate the speed ratio: try to choose a reduction ratio close to the ideal. The calculation method of the speed ratio is as follows: reduction ratio = motor speed (standard speed 1400) / reducer output shaft speed.
- Calculate the torque: for the service life of the worm gearbox, the torque calculation is very important. The torque value cannot exceed the maximum load torque of the worm gearbox, please refer to the parameter table.

Before use, please pay attention to check whether the reducer type structure, center distance specification, input shaft connection method, output shaft structure, and rotation direction meet the requirements of use. And it is recommended to test the reducer for about 2 hours to observe whether the operation of the reducer is stable, whether there is any abnormal noise or vibration or oil leakage and other unusual conditions.
